NEW Video // Holiday Look Book

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had an amazing Summer! Can't believe September is here already. Firstly, I wanted to wish all those going back to school, or starting University or just going back - Good Luck! I wish you all the success in your studies. And to those not studying - I hope work isn't too bad! :P

So, this is the last video in my holiday mini series and it is a fashion video! This is my first attempt at this kind of video :P I have always loved watching other people's version of this so I thought I'd give it ago.

Jewellery with style and distinction...

Hey Everyone,

I've got a different post for you today. It's all about jewellery! If you are looking for something totally unique and original, look no further!

Special Expressions is a wonderful shop in the picturesque town of Keswick in Cumbria. That sells some of the most gorgeous jewellery I've ever seen. I have now visited the store twice and also ordered from their website (linked above) and the customer service is great! All the gold stars! 

My first purchase from them was at least six years ago now! (And they are still going strong!)

They are a very unique piece, which I have never seen anywhere else! I feel like these can be worn in the day, or as a statement evening earring. When ever I wear these I get a tonne of comments! I feel they are different, but classy at the same time.

Now and again, I will treat myself to some nice statement pieces. But, in this case it was a lovely present from my parents when we had a recent trip to the Lake District.

Large Skull ring

If you have seen my most recent monthly favourites video, you will remember this one! I have always wanted a big skull ring *drools over The Great Frog London*, but unfortunately this has never quite been in my price range :'(! However, I feel like this ring is just as good - it's a weighty ring (which I like) and is a perfect fit! It is excellent quality and I have already got a load of use out of this. It adds instead edge to any look :P

I also wanted to show you what we bought my sister; as it is extremely cool!

My sister was unable to join us on our family adventure to the Lakes, so my mum wanted to get her something special. And these are definitely in that category. This is such a statement piece! I was very tempted myself! It is, again, amazing quality and the cuff is fully adjustable. My sister doesn't often wear jewellery, but has been really enjoying wearing this! 

So, I would really recommend checking out their website or popping to the shop! There are some great gift ideas, that a both good quality and unique.

Favourites Time! // July 2014

31 Day Blog Challenge // Day 8 - Old photo(s) of me

Hey Everyone,

This one is going to be a short one! Today post is supposed to be an old photo of me :P Well, I'm going to spoil you and give you three! I didn't have the best teen-years, and I think I've changed a lot (physically and emotionally).

This photo was taken after the coventry music festival: Godiva or something (can't remember). However, I do remember that nothing I'm wearing is mine! It's great to have friends with bigger wardrobes than you!

Look how short my hair is! There is also a vague side fringe going on :P I really don't like having fringes - they still annoy me and grow out too quickly!

Also - this is my natural hair colour! So blonde!

I could not exclude a brace picture! This was taken while I was at school - must have been 15 or 16 here lol! 

I can even tell you the foundation I'm wearing - my first MAC foundation - Studio fix fluid! Yes, I used to wear that every day! Oh god!

The Countdown has begun...

Hey Everyone,

This post is to get everyone excited about CHRISTMAS!!! Around this time of year, I honestly turn into one big kid :P and I just get sooooo excited for Xmas Day! :D 

Here is a picture of me yesterday, getting ready to open the first window of my advent calendar! :D (I know this picture makes it look like I'm not wearing a top but I am!) I not only have that advent calendar - I have 3! 

And it is time to get out your Xmas Jumpers, yay!!

I ended up picking this one from Boohoo - which I just think is great! :D Not only is it a gorgeous forest green but it also has a quote from one of the best Xmas movies of all time! (Do you know which one?)  

More pictures of my feet! I decided to paint them a nice festive metallic red from Butter London called "Knees Up". I just feel so Christmas-y! :D

Then, finally, I have started burning a festive smelling candle in my room! :) (You know I love candles!) 

Cinnamon and Mandarin - smells like Xmas is coming people!

#3 Is it worth the investment?

Hey Everyone,

So, it's time for another installment of "Is it worth the investment?" I'll link the first one that explains the series. Today's post is going to be on watches! So a nice short one...

So this is my baby - my Micheal Kors! It is the MK-576; it has rose gold and silver detailing. As you can tell (by me calling it "my baby") I definitely think this is an item worth investing in! And just watches in general. I think once you get into the habit of wearing one it becomes a must :P They also make an awesome accessory to any outfit!

I would say a definite "YES" to investing in a nice watch which can be worn day or night.

#2 Is it worth the investment?

Welcome to another post on investments in fashion/beauty/generally expensive items! 

It was only right that the next investment was a very old friend of mine. I've had her for 7, nearly 8 years!

Can you guess? No

I know what you are thinking - but it's not the bike! Sorry guys, that belongs to my best friend, but I am talking about my LEATHER JACKET! (I just thought the bike added to the Rock/Biker look)

 As I mentioned, I have had this Jacket for a very long time! And in fact it was my first leather jacket I ever bought! I remember that day so well :)! Me and this jacket have seen it all together, from nights out with my friends to first dates!
As you can see from these photos, she's looking pretty worn and tired! I just don't have the heart to throw her away, even with all the tears in the sleeves and discolouration. I don't care! So, because she is so old, you cannot get her anymore :(! But I purchased her from River Island, and I think in general, they do good quality leather jackets! So I would recommend checking them out - www.riverisland.com

Leather Jackets are always an investment worth spending money on! I mean they don't even have to pricey - I remember getting this one in the sales for 50% off!
Leather just instantly adds an edge to any look, whether you are wearing a dress or leather trousers! You can easily layer underneath them, though I'd recommend getting a size bigger than what you normally would so you can do this easily.
They come in all colours and styles - it's about finding the one for you! I'd always say shop around and try a few on. Another brand that does amazing leather jackets is All Saints!

Is it worth the investment?

So, I was thinking the other day - life is really expensive! (especially, if you are like me, and you have expensive taste :P) There are trends that come and go every year, but you really have to ask yourself - is it worth it? I am going to do a little series answering that question with some of my own personal investments.

Starting with....Boots!

More specifically, flat everyday boots. Everyone needs shoes, right? These you can pretty much wear with ANYTHING! Whether it be jeans and a t-shirt, or you want to dress them up with a dress. I am currently at uni and living in a student house, so I am limited on space. I had to be very strict with myself when choosing which ones to bring with me :/

These are probably the most comfortable shoes I own at the moment, they are a classic Chelsea Boot. I got these from Topshop about a month before I came back to uni and they are just a dream. I always wear black so I chose them in a Taupe shade so as to break up an all-black outfit.












I also love the fact that they have a slightly higher heel

than most of the other Chelsea boots I have tried, as this means I don't feel so much of a penguin when walking in them!
Also, for all you students out there, I did get student discount off these which was 10%. So that makes them even more awesome :)! I can't remember the price but they were no more than £60 - money well spent!!
As I said, I bought these from Topshop but I can't find these ones specifically :(. Though they have some similar ones online.

Finally, my babies....

These are the classic Dr Martens 1460 Boot in smooth Black Leather. I did get these as a Christmas present last year and I would totally recommend the investment! They priced at £100, and I was able to get student discount on these as well :) I have a love, hate relationship with these boots as they are sized quite large as a shoe. I am normally a size 6, but these are a BIG size 6! So, a part of me wishes I had got these in a size 5, but I was worried I wouldn't stretch them far enough.

But having said that, these were a life-saver when it snowed in Brighton last January. I could not have walked home without them! I am currently in the "love" part of our relationship and am finding them extremely comfortable. And as I said they are a classic boot that will last you so many years.
